How to Make a Peppa Pig Paper Plate Craft
Step 1: Prepare the Paper Plates
Start with two pink paper plates. If you only have white plates, simply paint them pink and allow them to dry completely before beginning.
Step 2: Create Peppa’s Nose
Cut a long oblong shape from one of the paper plates, then glue this piece onto the back of the second paper plate at a slight upward angle to create Peppa’s distinctive snout.
We actually thought this craft would be much simpler than it turned out to be! Our original plan was to stick the nose straight across the face, but it didn’t look much like Peppa at all. Angling the nose upwards made a huge difference and instantly gave her that recognisable cartoon look.

Step 3: Draw the Facial Features
Using coloured pens, draw on Peppa’s smile and nostrils. This was the easiest option for us and helped the features stand out clearly against the pink plate.
Step 4: Add the Cheek and Ears
Cut a large circle from red craft card for Peppa’s famous rosy cheek. If you’re struggling to cut a neat circle, try drawing around a coin first. It makes getting the shape much easier.
Next, cut two ear shapes from the same red card. Glue the ears to the top of the plate and attach the cheek to the opposite side of the nose.
Step 5: Add the Eyes
Finish your Peppa Pig paper plate craft by gluing on two googly eyes.
We often make our own eyes from card when crafting, but this time the googly eyes worked perfectly. They actually look very similar to Peppa’s eyes in the cartoon, so they were the ideal finishing touch.
Variations to Try
Make a Peppa Pig Mask
Cut two holes near the sides of the plate and thread string through them to create a simple Peppa Pig mask. Just make sure all paint and glue are completely dry before letting your toddler wear it!
Create the Whole Family
Once you’ve made Peppa, why not make George, Mummy Pig, and Daddy Pig too? You’ll already have most of the supplies out, making it an easy extension activity for toddlers and preschoolers.
To make Daddy Pig, simply add some glasses and a few dots for his facial hair. Robbie kindly told me that our Daddy Pig even looked like meโthanks, kiddo! Mummy Pig just needs a little extra detail around her eyelashes to stand out from Peppa, while George can be made using a matching design on a slightly smaller paper plate. You’ll have a whole Pig family in no time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What age is this Peppa Pig craft suitable for?
This paper plate craft is ideal for children aged 2 to 6 years old. Younger toddlers will need help cutting out the cardboard shapes and angling the nose, but they will love helping with the gluing and drawing features!
What can I use if I don’t have pink paper plates?
If you don’t have pink paper plates, standard white paper plates work perfectly. Just let your toddler paint them with pink washable acrylic or poster paint and let them dry completely before assembling the face.
How do you make the paper plate craft look like Peppa Pig?
The trick to making it recognizable is angling the oblong nose section slightly upward rather than straight across, and adding the iconic large red circle for her rosy cheek!
Final Thoughts
This Peppa Pig paper plate craft ended up being one of those activities that looked simple at first but needed a little experimentation to get right. Thankfully, once we adjusted the nose position, everything came together nicely.
Robbie loved seeing Peppa’s face appear as we added each feature, and the finished craft was instantly recognisable. If you’re looking for an easy paper plate craft for toddlers, this is a fun one to add to your collection.
